Bills of materials, revisions and changes, no server to install

pulpProduct keeps your parts, their revisions and their bills of materials, and carries each change from the request to release. Import a workbook or a circuit board and everything is guessed.

What you can do with pulpProduct

Who is it for?

pulpProduct is for small design and manufacturing teams, workshops, hardware product makers and teachers who want the rigour of a PLM without the infrastructure: a circuit board, an enclosure, a small device, from the first bill of materials to series production. You can start from the sample workspace, a small invented weather station, to understand the approach in a few minutes.

Your files

Data is saved on your device, with attached files stored by fingerprint. A complete .pproduct backup holds everything, trash included. pulpProduct reads Excel workbooks (.xlsx) and CSV files, .pbom bills of materials, .pboard boards and .passembly assemblies; it is not a CAD tool: STEP files open in pulp3D. Prices and purchasing are not managed in this version, and sharing with a team goes through a synced folder, a phone or a guest; real-time editing and per-person permissions will come later with the pulpSuite server.

File types recognised by pulpProduct:

  • .pproduct
  • .pbom
  • .passembly

Frequently asked questions

Can pulpProduct replace Windchill or Teamcenter?

It takes their essential notions (parts, revisions, bills of materials, change requests and orders, release) for individual or small-team use, without permissions, without options or complex variants, and without CAD integration. For a large organisation, those tools remain more complete.

Are my bills of materials sent to a server?

No. Everything stays on your device. The optional search for duplicates by meaning also runs on the device and needs a small module downloaded after you agree.

What happens if I import the same file twice?

Nothing is duplicated: parts already imported are found again, and for a modified circuit board pulpProduct offers to create a new revision and shows the difference.

Can I edit a released revision?

No: it is locked. You go through a change request, which creates the next revision, then an order that releases it.
