Interface language and spell checker

pulpSuite is available in French, English and Spanish. The language you choose applies to every app in the suite.

Change the language

Click the language picker (a translation icon followed by FR, EN or ES) on the home page or in an app's toolbar, then pick a language. The interface switches straight away, without reloading the page or closing your documents.

On first launch

pulpSuite uses your browser's language if it is French, English or Spanish; otherwise it shows in English. As soon as you pick a language, that choice is remembered in this browser and takes priority over the browser's language.

What follows the language

  • Menus, messages, tooltips and notices.
  • How dates and numbers are written (decimal separator, month names).
  • The notices printed at the foot of some documents (see Print).

Your documents' content is never translated or changed when you switch languages.

The pulpDoc spell checker

The Proofing panel in pulpDoc underlines mistakes and suggests corrections.

  • Spelling (offline): the dictionary for the chosen language is downloaded once, when you pick that language, then checking happens on your device, even offline. Available languages: French, English (US and UK), Spanish, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Dutch, Polish, Italian and German.
  • Add to dictionary: a word the checker doesn't know can be added to your personal dictionary.
  • Grammar checker (server): off by default. If you turn it on, the text being checked is sent to the server whose address appears in the panel. See Privacy.

The checker's language is set in the Proofing panel, separately from the interface language: you can write a document in Spanish with the interface in English.

Frequently asked questions

Why is pulpSuite in English?

Your browser's language is neither French nor Spanish, and you haven't picked a language yet. Use the language picker: your choice will be remembered.

My language choice keeps getting lost.

It is stored in the browser. In private browsing, or if you clear the site's data, it is forgotten.

Are more languages planned?
