pulpClient is the relationship book of your business: contacts, organizations, sales opportunities and activities (calls, meetings, emails, tasks, notes). By default, everything is kept on your device, with no account. You can also share your file with a team or open it on your phone: see Share with a team or a phone.
Getting started
- Open pulpClient. The first time, an example appears on its own so you can see what pulpClient looks like: the fictional company Atelier Armor, its contacts, opportunities, activities and support requests. It is never saved or mixed with your data: it goes away as soon as you create your own record or import a file (an activity added to an example record stays in the example). Start from scratch or Remove the example removes it in one click, and File › See the example again reopens it, even next to your data, without touching it (Back to my data). To start, choose Import my contacts.
- Import: drop a file from Gmail, Outlook, HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive (CSV), a vCard file (.vcf) or a pulpClient backup (.pclient). Columns are recognized on their own, by their title and then by their content: you only fix what is wrong.
- In the preview, check how many records will be created, updated, identical, and the likely duplicates, then tap Import. Importing the same file again creates nothing: “0 to create, N identical”.
- Home shows this month’s and this quarter’s weighted forecast, opportunities to follow up, today’s activities and suggested next actions.
Common tasks
How do I log an activity in one sentence?
In the quick-entry box, write it the way you would say it: “call Paul Durand tomorrow 10am”, “meeting Claire Thursday 2:30pm”, “email Sophie in 3 days”. The type, contact and date are recognized before saving; check the chips, then Add.
How do I organize my activities?
Activities shows them as a List, by Week or as a Board, filtered by To do, Done or All. Mark as done ticks off a finished activity. On a contact, organization or opportunity record, Log an activity attaches it there directly.
How do I create a record from an email signature or a business card?
Create › New contact, then Paste a signature (name, job title, company, emails, phones and address are recognized) or Photograph a business card: the first time, pulpClient asks your permission to install text reading, which then works on the device. The record is pre-filled: review it before saving.
How do I track a deal?
In Opportunities, drag a card from one column to another to change its stage. Moving to Won asks for confirmation, moving to Lost asks for the reason; the close date is recorded. On a phone, use the card’s Move menu. The List view sorts by amount, date or probability.
How do I merge duplicates?
Duplicates shows groups of records sharing an email or a number (almost certain) or only a name (to confirm). Pick the record to keep, then Merge: the others’ contact details and notes are added, their activities and opportunities moved over, and the merged records go to the trash. Not duplicates remembers your choice; Later sets the group aside.
How do I attach a contact to their company?
When a contact’s email address matches an organization’s Web domain, the record offers Attach to…?. Nothing is ever attached without your approval. On an organization record, the SIREN, SIRET and VAT numbers are checked as you type: a mistyped number is flagged.
How do I find someone?
The top bar searches everywhere, ignoring accents and case (/ or Ctrl+K). With smart search (optional), ask in plain words: “construction clients in Brittany we haven’t followed up”. In Contacts, filter by Tag, Organization, Owner or Consent.
How do I manage consent and GDPR?
Each record carries its legal basis and marketing consent (by default: none). Imports never grant any, unless a column says so explicitly. From a record’s ⋯ menu: GDPR access sheet (a readable file, or a page to print as PDF) for the right of access, and Erase this person for the right to erasure: personal fields are emptied, the record deleted, and related activities keep their subject without the person. Erasure asks for two confirmations and cannot be undone.
How do I adapt pulpClient to my business?
In Settings: the Default currency, the Country of phone numbers (to write them in international format), the Follow up after (days) delay after which an opportunity needs a follow-up, your Pipelines (New pipeline, Add a stage, with each stage’s Win probability), your Tags, Custom fields (text, number, date or yes / no) on contacts, organizations or opportunities, and the Theme.
How do I link a record to a document or a ticket?
In another application of the suite, copy the object’s reference (Copy reference), then in the pulpClient record: Links to other applications › Add a link. An organization can then show its pulpArchive documents, an opportunity its pulpForge tickets.
How do I export my contacts?
File › Export: Contacts (vCard 4.0), Contacts (vCard 3.0, older phones), contacts, organizations, opportunities or activities as CSV, or Contacts (CSV, headers in my language). Each list’s Export button does the same; when the list is filtered, This list (vCard 4.0) exports only the records shown.
How do I get back a deleted record?
A deleted record goes to the Trash: Restore puts it back. A person erased under GDPR is listed there as “Erased (GDPR)”, without their data.
How do I back up or change device?
Settings › Full backup (.pclient) (or File › Save as) produces a .pclient file with all your records, trash included. Restore a backup reads it back: records are added, and for a record already present the most recent version is kept. For a copy every day without thinking about it: File › Automatic backup… (see automatic backup).
How do I follow my customers' support requests?
The Support screen gathers your customers' requests, their deadlines, satisfaction and a knowledge base. Everything is explained in Customer support.
Share with a team or a phone
- Shared file: File › Save as a shared file… puts your customer file (for example
Clients.pclient) in a synced folder (OneDrive, Nextcloud, kDrive) or on a network drive. Your colleagues open it with File › Open a shared folder… and everyone sees the others’ changes as soon as the folder has synced. Pipelines, tags, custom fields and the follow-up delay are shared by the whole file; the theme stays specific to each device. - File status: the badge in the title bar shows On this computer or Shared · N devices; a click shows who has seen your changes (“5 changes not yet seen by Paul”) and offers Sync now.
- Changes at the same time: if two people change the same field of a record, the most recent value is kept and a notice tells you, with Keep or Use the other value. Nothing is lost silently.
- Automatic backup: File › Automatic backup… makes a full copy every day in the folder of your choice; a discreet reminder appears if your records have never been backed up, or not for more than 7 days.
- My phone: File › Open on my phone… shows a QR code; scan it, check that the 6-digit code is the same on both devices, choose Read only or Can edit and the duration. The phone shows your records live from the computer and keeps nothing.
- Guest on a record: on a contact, an organization or an opportunity, Invite to this record sends a QR code or a link. The person sees only that record and what belongs to it (its activities, the contact’s opportunities). An approval window appears on your computer: compare the code, then Refuse, Read only or Can edit.
- Who is connected: “N device(s) connected” appears in the header; File › Connected devices… lists the sessions, and Cut access ends one of them at once.
- Limits: the shared folder needs a computer with Chrome or Edge; anyone with access to the folder sees and changes the whole file (no per-person permissions, encrypt it if needed); changes arrive as fast as the folder syncs, not in real time. For the phone and for guests, the computer must stay on, with pulpClient open.
All the details: Share a file with your team or your phone and Where your data lives and how to work with others.

AI in pulpClient
- Column recognition at import, plain-language entry, signature reading, suggested follow-ups: rules applied on the device, with nothing to download.
- Business-card reading: a text-reading module downloaded once after your permission, then working on the device.
- Smart search (optional): a module that understands the meaning of words, downloaded after permission, also running on the device. Until it is installed, full-text search remains available.
- pulpAssist: can search your records, create a contact or log an activity; every change waits for your approval.
FAQ
Do my contacts leave my device?
Not unless you decide so. By default, records, the text read from cards and smart search stay on the device. If you share your file, it goes to the folder you chose, or is shown on the device you approved; nothing is sent to pulpSuite. Only pulpAssist, if you use it, receives the text you give it.
Does pulpClient send emails or campaigns?
No: sending emails, campaigns, quotes and invoices are outside pulpClient. It prepares records and follow-ups; you write from pulpInbox.
Can I work with others?
Yes, by sharing your file: in a synced folder, by direct exchange between computers, on your phone, or by inviting someone onto a record (see Share with a team or a phone). The pulpSuite server (real time, per-person permissions, access from every browser and phone) is not available yet; connecting to an existing company database is planned, with no date announced.
Two tabs are open on the same record: what happens?
A change made in one tab appears in the other. If the same field is changed on both sides, a dialog asks you to choose: keep my version or the saved one. Nothing is overwritten silently.
